Spring in Obuse runs from late February through the end of April. The season typically brings weather cycles of three cold days followed by four warm ones, and it almost never snows. Spring blossoms begin with simple flowering mustard but by early April the multi-petaled yaezakura cherry along the riverbank are in magnificent bloom.
